Hi Friends!

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my blog – I hope you come back often! I was inspired to start a blog of my own after spending a lot of time reading others! I hope to be able to share my knowledge as well as learn from all of you.

A bit about myself – I am a 27 year old Registered Nurse and have recently embarked on a new journey. I am following my passion and am back in school to become a Registered Holistic Nutritionist. I hope to eventually start my own practise and plan to chronicle my journey on this blog – I would love for you to join me.

My Story – Like so many other women out there I have found my way out of a very dark place. I spent many, many years locked in a love-hate relationship with an Eating Disorder that threatened to take away so many good things in my life.  Much of my time was spent focusing on calorie counting, excessively exercising, and focusing on each and every flaw I perceived my body to have. I was distancing myself from friends and family as my eating disorder demanded so much of my time. My thoughts were constantly negative and the eating disorder took advantage of this by feeding me more and more negativity.

I truly believe that everything in life happens for a reason, and I know that having gone through an Eating Disorder, I am now a stronger person. I spent a long time in denial and when I finally admitted to myself that I had a problem, I was able to start the process of healing. Believe it or not, I actually attribute much of my healing to food. Not just too any kind of food, but to whole, organic, nutrient packed foods. Once I began incorporating whole, fresh, organic foods into my diet I began to see the benefits of treating my body with love and respect. Gone were the days of “low fat”, “fat free”, “low calorie” artificial foods. The most amazing thing that I learned was that once I started to provide my body with the nourishment it needed, it provided me with the nourishment I needed. I learned to trust my body and to trust myself and turned the negative thinking into positive thinking and my body rewarded me. I would not trade the path that I took for any other path because it has made me the person I am today. It is my goal to prevent women from taking the path I took by educating them and inspiring them on the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle. I have learned that life is all about BALANCE. Balancing a healthy diet, incorporating exercise, and making time for loved ones is what brings so much happiness to my life now. Since I have been able to bring BALANCE to my life, I have been able to find the BEAUTY in myself.

I challenge each and every one of you to bring BALANCE to your life and watch the BEAUTY emerge.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions/comments or to share your inspiring story with me, I would love to hear from you! balanceisbeauty@rogers.com

    Hi Kristin!

I don’t know if you remember me, but we took Caroline Dupont’s class “Clear Being Total Health” together. I was reading the Raw Candy blog and I saw a picture of you…and then found your blog! I’m excited to read it and see what you’ve been up to!

I hope you are doing well. Would love to catch up!
